Combination Therapy
Many of
you are familiar with the individual effects of Botox and fillers.
Botox relaxes the facial muscles that are causing an unwanted
wrinkle, and fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, “fill in”
areas of the face where there has been volume loss (eg. cheeks,
under the eyes,
lips
etc). However, what some of you may not know is that combining
Botox with the fillers leads to even better results.
When
Botox and fillers are used in combination, full facial restoration
can be achieved. That is, the wrinkles and volume loss are both
treated more effectively than when either modality is used alone.
For example, when you have deep frown lines between the eyebrows
there are actually two problems in place. The first problem is the
contracting facial muscles that are creating the deep frown lines,
and the deep frown lines themselves. Injecting Botox will stop the
muscles from contracting so that the deep frown lines can no longer
be actively formed, however, you are still left with some residual
frown lines at rest. Injecting a filler into these lines will then
smooth out this area. Two separate problems need two separate
solutions. This same approach is very effective in different areas
of the face as well.
In
addition, combining Botox with the filler appears to make the filler
last longer in the area it was placed. When the affected muscles
are no longer actively contracting, they allow the filler to remain
where they are placed for much longer periods of time. This is
great news for all of you with busy schedules.
So come on in to the Medical Rejuvenation Centre and book your appointment for combination
therapy today!
